Looks like the founder and resident technical genius passed away. For anybody who never visited amazing1.com, or got their paper catalog back in the day, or saw their ads in the back of magazines like Popular Mechanics and Popular Science... well, this is truly the end of an era. They had a very eclectic and fascinating mix of products, ranging from Tesla Coil kits, all sorts of laser stuff, high voltage electronics, oddball books, bizarre weapons, and... well, it's hard to do justice to explaining what they represented. Very much a big loss for tinkerers, amateur scientists, people looking for a
really cool science fair project, etc. :-(
