Thinking of cancelling our OpenAI subscriptions. What do you think?
My first reaction has been negative. Yes, in a bubble of personal ignorance about what actually went on, my first impulse was to side with the two people who got pushed out.
We have been playing with OpenAI for some time. Nothing serious yet. Moving off the platform would probably have zero impact. I haven't looked for a curated list of viable alternatives, if that exists.
So...the second impulse was to think about cancelling our (multiple) paid accounts. Yet, I am trying to not make a decision with foggy data.
OpenAI should probably release detailed and truthful information on what happened to allow users to make decisions.
In so many ways, the shockwaves they sent into the market support the idea that a closed GPT controlled by a single entity that is able to behave in this manner might be the wrong effort to get support.
Thoughts?
