There is an exponential power that is getting exacerbated by online dating apps.
It is height preference.
Here are two facts:
1. The distribution of height preference is an exponential curve that peaks at 180cm (5'11")
2. 180cm is the 75 percentile of men's height in the U.S
The amount of feminist, masculine men that are college educated AND at least 180cm... is small. And these men usually have an abundance of options which is influencing them to prioritize casual dating for as long as possible until they are ready to settle down (perhaps their mid to late 30s).
Neither person in the example couple brings much to the table, marriage-wise. But I will fully agree that the father in the story should step back into his child’s life! But they can do that without marriage.
