> Despite these strategies, there is no scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness in preventing killer whale attacks. Individual accounts vary, with some sailors claiming success with loud music while others report no positive results.

I was about to say that the headline isn't wrong, because the problem is being tackled - just not successfully.

Except this has nothing to do with scientists.

Of course, now that the orcas have finally figured out who the fuckers are that destroy their habitat, their uprising will be shut down.

"scientists battling orcas" pfft, how about you start battling human supremacism and consumerism first and foremost.

Yeah, two apex species battling it out on their turf.

In a story linked from the article "Orcas ‘playing games’ with British yachts as Spain plans to ban boats after attacks"[0] they seem to be very aware of what they are or aren't doing.

> Mr de Stephanis added: “If two or three killer whales really attacked a yacht, they would sink it in a matter of seconds.

It's like their either teaching their young, or just practicing non-lethal disabling in 'black belt' ways.

Imagine being a scientist on the wrong side of the orca wars. Spend your time figuring out how save nature, instead.
