I think it would need far more space, time and nuance than most people are willing to give, to have a productive discussion of this, even here on HN.
Israel exists because of a genocide, and they are currently fighting a foe who has genocide of Jews written into its charter.
So yeah, it's not a case where we will just treat every comment as a sincere discussion with no consequence. We can't just take "genocide is bad" as read, because there are many people actively campaigning for it. If you want to talk about it, many people aren't going to just agree-to-disagree.
Genocide of Palestine in reaction isn't justified.
