Taylor Swift merch drop just happened

I thought you were kidding but that’s exactly what my feed is conjecturing on socials.

Wow. That is some next level entertainer scale.

The HN audience might not know this, but it's insane how popular she is. (Especially among middle+ income)

Average resale value for TSwift tickets is $1600+ [1]

I realized how insanely popular she is when half my workplace stopped working to try to get tickets for her shows on the assigned hour the tickets dropped for a show 5 hours away by car.

A co-worker+spouse are traveling to Europe for a concert, because it's about the same price w/ airline tickets.

40 minutes from identifying the outage to completely rolling out a fix is impressive, gotta hand it to them. I'd love to get a look into their deploy process.

They went through a spectacular system-wide crash a few years ago with Jeffree Starr cosmetics - similar circumstances (despite knowing it was coming, the sale took down storefront and admin for merchants across the platform) and probably learned a few things from that experience. There's some interesting* behind-the-scenes footage on YouTube from that crash: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTCOoVApM_U&t=1811s

*arguable, but I think it's interesting if you've ever been involved in a high stakes ecommerce launch

If they have Android app, will it take 2 weeks to publish fix under the new rules?
