What Is New in MySQL 8.2

Seems a rather threadbare update. A few notable improvements under the hood—which is good since they don't require code changes to see perf improvements—but no new functionality for querying that I can see.

It seems the difference in pace of improvement between MySQL and Postgres continues. The feature gap is widening.

For comparison, the Postgres 16 changes. https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/release-16.html

Whats the bennefits of using mysql today when mariadb exists.
