Just file it with the table top fusion one

A fusion reactor is easy enough for high schoolers to make, is there a particular one you're referencing?

Presumably this:

Pons and Fleischman set off a very similar hype cycle about cold fusion in the late 80s.

Philo T. Farnsworth actually burned up all of his wealth in the 1960s in trying to build his fusor into a power generation device.

It does trigger nuclear fusion, but the design cannot break even.
