Tell HN: LinkedIn suspended my account for engaging with a spam recruiter
- I was recently contacted by a user named "Teodor" in the crypto/blockchain industry with a job offer in the ZK space
- I asked "Teo" to send a job description before having a call. He obliged, sending me this[1] job ad
- I responded positively "Hey sounds nice, send the hiring manager my CV and let's see what they say"
- I go to login to LinkedIn today, only to find out that I'm suspended! Mind you, I have never created a LinkedIn post in my entire life (ew!)!. I only respond (respectfully) to recruiters.
- I only found out I was suspended because LinkedIn tried to get me to solve a captcha about 20 times before I finally clicked "Forgot Password", at which point in time it mentioned I was suspended.
- As you can see, the job ad[1] is now unavailable. The only explanation I can think of is that "Teo" was some bot/troll account? And I was suspended by "AI" because I merely engaged with the account? I didn't even accept the Connection Request from the account.
- Can't say I'm surprised by still sucks :/
