Google cancels yet another project.

View on HN

This time it is worse. Real people and their lives are affected.

Hey I was one of the three Google Wave users.

I wonder who the third one is.

The QA engineer at Google

QA at Google is a lie. Just like the cake!

Me too. I wonder who the third is.

It was me. I used it to collaborate with someone on a pointless college project about 14 years ago.

I think we even uploaded a few files and sent a few messages.

The people using any of the other canceled projects weren't real nor affected?

You seem to want to make this more than the others, but in doing so, you've negated all of the others.

Are you comparing losing homes to losing access to some social media app?

I think they were comparing losing a home to losing a service that your business or income source depend on. The second actually seems worse to me as losing your source of money means you lose your home along with everything else.

Oh come on. The construction didn't even start yet; that's not people "losing homes".

As if G+ is the only thing that's been canceled

If you Google "San Jose Google Construction," you don't even have to click into an article to learn that there has already been a large amount of demolition.

Or the people working on those cancelled projects...

I don't think that people are affected by not going forward with a real estate project. At most, some had an expectation of an outcome that now we won't see if it would happen at all.
