How long will the stimulation work? I have a family friend who has developed Parkinson's and his doctors told him they could do something similar (I think shock in the brain though), but it would only work for a limited amount of time.

this a first of its kind so I would imagine its one of the evaluation goals to see how long it will work for
Is it the case that the disease continues to progress, so the absolute efficacy of the stimulation lowers over time, and becomes ineffectual?
I'm not sure, but just recall being told it would be a temporary measure and require drilling into the skull.
