One of the first courses I took to learn programming, having never written a line of code in my life. I decided to get my masters in CS after this, and followed that on with a career in tech. Honestly, a huge change in career trajectory.

Are there assignments, labs, etc.? Or just the lectures?

It’s been a while but I recall there being assignments. I think everyone has access, but maybe you have to pay to have them graded? I’m not sure.

there is a free automated checker. I think you pay if you want a certification.

I just found this: https://cs50.harvard.edu/x/2023/certificate/

It seems there are 3 platforms which offer a certificate, for a fee, and then one with a free certificate, Harvard OCW: https://cs50.harvard.edu/x/2023/

https://www.classcentral.com/report/cs50-free-certificate/ says:

> Finally, to further confuse matters, even when you take the course via Harvard OCW, you’ll be asked to create a free edX account. To be clear, this is just a logistical step that will allow you to submit your assignments. You do not need to buy the edX verified certificate.
