Audrey Tang (formerly Autrijus Tang), Taiwan's minister of digital affairs, was a prolific perl hacker back in the day with many contributions on CPAN.

It is C. Otherwise, they would have used `<cstdio>` or `<iostream>` rather than `"stdio.h"`

However, it is written in the common parts of the languages, so it will compile under either gcc as a C file or g++ as a cpp file just fine without changes.

stdio.h works just fine in C++.

Yes, I meant only that if it was foremost intended to be C++, one might expect one of the more idiomatic i/o libraries to be used.

Depends on when you started writing C++. C++98 has left its mark on some of us and muscle memory is a thing.

It did, "const" exists since C89.

Cambridge not Oxford. And I guess honors is true, but that's underselling graduating as "Senior Wrangler," the top graduating student in math.
