If this is your technique and you believe yourself to be a civil rights activist, you have made a mistake somewhere.
I distrust the police as much as the next guy, but what else is there to report? What other sources are there? Youtube, one of the giant platforms that is notorious for being horrible at communicating with users?
They could have contacted anyone else to see if cops posting snuff films on YouTube is widely seen as a civil liberties issue. They could have contacted the victim, victims' rights advocates in Los Angeles, other police departments to find out if they routinely, or ever, post videos of violent crimes, or if they instead choose to post the clearest still image of the people of interest.
