Ask HN: What music have you been listening to lately?

Shameless plug: have a listen to my new album “Melodic Guitar Music.”

It’s 10 original guitar instrumentals. Sort of a mashup between Django Reinhardt (gypsy jazz), Chet Atkins-style fingerpicked guitar and Beatles melodicism.

Shostakovich, Reich, Glass, Nymen, Mertens and, of course, King Stingray

As much new, diverse music as possible. I built an RSS feed reader for album reviews to escape my self-inflicted Spotify echo chamber and it’s been a lot of fun re-expanding my horizons.

There is nothing better than an ultra deep 12 hour sophisticated coding session while listening to Devin the Dude

For work, video games soundtracks (OST) work really well since they're not distracting. Some good ones: Cuphead, Guilty Gear XX, Doom Eternal, Skullgirls.

I wrote most of OnlineOrNot to Daft Punk's Alive 2007 album on repeat. Parcels' Live Vol. 1 is slowly starting to replace that vibe for me.

Today: Uada, Gaerea and Necrophobic. I like it.

Schönberg, seems to suit the times
