Also, Apple did not mention any improvements to the NPU at all during the video.

What could cause them to put a 2x faster NPU in an iPhone but not Mac?

The NPU is mostly used for very low power inference, which is a priority in the iPhone, but not so much for the M-series.

...What do you want it for, anyway? I think some native OSX apps and Apple's stable diffusion implementation can use it, but I can't think of much else
