Building Stuart, a blazingly-fast static site generator

Random unsolicited thoughts on SSGs (from someone unaffiliated with Stuart or Hugo):

Not sure if I’ll ever get to it since things are generally fast enough without it, but I’d like to build an SSG that supports accurate incremental rebuilds.

Lower hanging fruits for my current SSG were: caching syntax highlighting results and deferring link-checking.

For the record: my issue with Hugo wasn’t performance, but its rigid data model and ugly template language.

Good write up. Not sure speed is all that crucial in a SSG.
