That and the crypto bull market. Imagine being SBF and knowing you could have avoided decades in jail if only you hadn't filed for bankruptcy.

this happened to him several times, and each time he ended up betting it all again. if anthropic would make him whole, he'd bet it all on more bullshit crypto

Feels like the best situation. Those who had their cash/investment misappropriated get it back, and someone who clearly should not have been in a position to have that much responsibility and power has been removed.

True, so the bank robber should be tried for bank robbery.

The question here is whether the bank can get back some or all of the stolen money, i.e. can FTX customers get back the money & cryptocurrency they gave to FTX for safe keeping, maybe as shares in Anthropic?

FYI if your creditors are demanding their money back and you don’t have it… you really don’t have many other options.

The fact that 1 or 2 years later the people will get their money back doesn’t mean there was any hope of surviving this a year ago.

SBF claimed multiple times that filing for bankruptcy was the worse decision of his life, so it was presumably a deliberate decision at the time. Not sure how long he could have avoided it though.

Isn't it interesting that his biggest regret isn't, you-know... stealing customer funds to prop up his failing trading company?
