30 seconds per patient to check drug interactions, verify Rx and allergies. Might be okay for a child with no other meds, but for a 40 year old adult with a few other meds? A 70 year old with 12 other scripts?

Is verifying interactions and allergies the pharmacist's job or the physician's?

Seems like it ought to fall on the physician, which allows us to replace the retail pharmacist with a vending machine.

As a bonus, this drives costs down.

Plenty of people see more than one doctor, and they (doctors) are not great at unifying their notes.
