> We had stuff being pulled out of people’s desks and were shipping it. 15 year old stock was shipped. Lots of non-automotive parts shipped as automotive. Tier1s were signing waivers all over the place to get material.
Why did these companies have 15 year old stock lying around? Wouldn't signing a waiver that acknowledges your company used sub-standard parts for safety critical systems be incriminating? Which "parts" of a car could be reasonably pulled from employee desks in any large semiconductor company?
The gist of this claim seems to be that cars manufactured in that period are low quality and unsafe. But this leaves a lot of open questions. Or am I misunderstanding?
