Hacker News Reader

This unnecessary English nitpick doesn't meet the HN guidelines for submissions:

> On-Topic: Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity.

Instead of nitpicking, have some pride that HN is a mostly-healthy online community that people from many different cultures / language backgrounds can participate in.

Also, of is not a replacement for have.

Example: It is wrong to type, "I should of...". The correct way is, "I should have..."

Also, some time in the last few years everybody started using "breaks" to refer to the mechanism you use to slow your car. It's "brakes"

Then it's different than then?

Do you this as a common problem?

It's a common problem because American English no longer preserves the pronunciation difference, but posting to HN about it is a waste of time. Get a highway billboard and put it next to the ones about Jesus if it bothers you that much.

(I'm not the OP)

I see this mistake all the time on HN, and other parts of the internet.
