Thokcha (Meteorite Amulets)

Nickel-iron meteorites often have a distinctive crystallization pattern[1] which makes them easy to spot (I have nice little piece etched to show it, stuck to a magnet on my fridge).

Debora Rios, et al of Rio de Janero University, has published this 9 question flowchart [0] of determining the authenticity of a meteorite vs slag. Basically, look for a crust, smooth dimpling (but not voids), and magnetism.
