Ask HN: What defunct software tool do you miss?

Google Wave

ICQ (i know it technically still exist but now it's a Russian spy tool and no one uses it)

I miss AIM!

THe Mac version of FrameMaker. Even after 20 years, I'm still mad about Adobe's managing of the product.

MSN Messenger. The emoji were cute and the interface was stable and native.

Have you heard of Escargot? https://escargot.chat/

That is extremely cool and was probably fiendishly difficult to achieve, but, unfortunately, I think discord is the first and last word in free chat at the moment.

MacsBug

This one goes way back. Thanks for mentioning this one - it was fun to read up on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacsBug
