These feel low to me, am I just remembering the early days of EV when it was standard to quote the battery as a third to half the cost of the entire vehicle?
Ongoing cost reductions. Next year it will be cheaper. The year after that, cheaper yet.
Economies of scale, different (cheaper) electrode materials, smaller % of the expensive materials, higher capacity per weight unit, etc etc.
It sounds great unless reductions in price can't outflank inflation.
I thought it was component costs. OEM markup would be retail.
