Capturing carbon from fermentation of an ethanol plant is an ideal case because you don't need an expensive amine stripper or oxy-fuel combustion to get CO2 that is pure enough to inject underground.

Now there is endless talk about “ethanol from cellulosic biomass” but it’s like the talk about pyrolysis or the fast breeder reactor.
I think ethanol is not even interesting as a sustainable aviation fuel, as the industry seems to reject any kind of oxygenated fuel for reasons I still haven’t figured out. So they are falling back on Fischer-Tropsch chemistry and similar boondoggles.
