Music publishers sue AI company Anthropic over song lyrics

Where are all the supposed “damages” from websites that host song lyrics? This is more rent-seeking behavior that I cannot condemn any more strongly.

I wonder if this is the solution to the Fermi Paradox?

Super intelligent AI is developed, but somewhere on their (doomed) planet copyright holders get it banned. The most advanced AIs our outlawed, so only outlaws have the most advanced AIs. Chaos ensues, and the civilization falls.

Without IP laws it would have been easy for everyone to have the information to rebuild civilization, but lawyers made that illegal, so nobody rebuilds in the first hundred years and most knowledge is last forever.

Of course the civilization rises again, but the same thing keeps happening.

Could copyright lawyers have caused the fall of Ancient Egypt, Lemuria and of Atlantis?
