Tell HN: Chrome OS now has a "camera/microphone in use" icon

I just realized that in the notifications/date/time button in the taskbar in Chrome OS now has a "camera/microphone in use" icon while using the Camera app, and it was never talked about in its release notes in the Help app, so I just thought it would be helpful if I posted it here.

Well this is without a doubt a good move, I still take the cynical stance that using any sort of Google software and hoping for privacy is pointless.

"Hoping for privacy" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. There are degrees of difference between collecting search, web history, telemetry and other usage data and between using the microphone / camera to record all the time to analyze it.

Try posting a link to the documentation with the same title.
