I contacted them immediately, yeah :-) they've offered to recover the data for $100 + shipping both ways, which seems pretty reasonable.

12+16 pin Apple ssd to usb external adapters are ~$70 on amazon, so I'd rather support Louis and have it done by them.

With a bit of luck he will even make a video about it :)

My friend's laptop's battery blew up. It seems like this computer was affected by a recall specifically because (in Apple's words) "the battery may overheat and pose a fire safety risk".

What would be the best course of action? Photos & some details on my blog. Thank you!
