CIA's Telegram Hijacked

was me if anyone wants details - but it's pretty simple. not a hack. registered an available username so that opposition ic groups couldn't do the same - they could have dressed it up in a visually identical way and intercepted western intel as a best case scenario.

it's just an intelligence failure. those aren't new - nor is this really even that big of a deal - imo - it just could have hypothetically been a big deal - and i don't really care for hypotheticals

> But a flaw in how X displays some links meant the full web address had been truncated to https://t.me/securelycont - an unused Telegram username.

always click your links, folks, that's a pretty dumb glitch to truncate href as well as the displayed url. good looking out mr bear.

right, because so many people are typing in the incorrectly shortened URL instead of clicking on the link. something that happens to work nowhere on any page, that's what people are going to rely on to contact CIA. phew, they really dodged a bullet here because putin didn't figure this out first!

That was on purpose!!111
