This has been obvious since 2010 and even more so since Xi took over in 2012, anyone who says otherwise wasn't paying attention or was willfully blind. If there is a war, Silicon Valley will be need to be held to account for helping China develop technologically in the last decade to the point where it is such a potent threat to the US military. I mean it's been stunning and it would never have happened without Sequoia, Apple and Microsoft.

Whether Lenin said it or not, "the Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them" applies to the situation.

Capitalists do not recognize the boundaries of nation-states and the process of extracting the last pound of flesh through the activities of their enterprise eventually leads to mass unemployment in their country of origin while at the same time strengthening the economies of potential rivals.
