I love that movie! The original release had a scene where they had dinner at Taco Bell and it was revealed "all restaurants are Taco Bell". In a later DVD release this was changed to Pizza Hut, which has the same parent company, which I thought was so authentic to that particular message.
Was that on American DVDs? I heard it was dubbed over as "Pizza Hut" in foreign releases because we would know what that is.
Yes, the European release had pizza hut badly added in, some scenes they couldn't do it (back then this was hard) like the glass in the restaurant that had taco bell etching.
Yes. The lit sign outside and obvious product placement decals were changed but decals on the windows in the background were not. (I just checked my copy.) Product placement should cost less than the cash you get for it although it does still work for the joke in the movie.
“I'm sorry to say that the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of robed sissies.”
The story for how the seashells came about doesn’t make sense. How could you reach someone while they were on the toilet in the early-mid 90’s? Unless the dude got up from the toilet and walked over to the nearest phone, which must have had a really long cord, and then walked back to sit on the toilet.
Toilet phone extensions were a thing, the classiest ones were brown.
We had cordless [landline] phones in the early 90s.
