Israel Declares War on Hamas After Surprise Assault from Gaza

I think he just wanted some political bonus points.

Actually Prime Minister can't declare war. It requires decision of security cabinet (at least ?)

Good to see some countries responding to barbarians with better weapons than balloons and candles.

> At least 40 dead

It easy to count more than this on social media. This is very significant. Footage of captured civilians and IDF is also a quite large #.

This is a remarkably advanced assault, as if career military men were involved, and likely a prelude for something bigger coming from Lebanon, or even Egypt or Syria after a long while.

The world is unravelling. American abrogation of its defence obligations in 2014 provoked a sequence of events which could lead to a number of countries vanishing off the map by the end of this decade.

I want to remind what complacency costed Ukraine when they snuffed at "what a few dozen Russians penetrating the border on pickups can do?" in 2014.

Of course, they themselves didn't do much, but their actions were only an opener to set up a much bigger gambit.

Underestimating genius is bad, but the underestimation of idiocy is truly lethal.
