Also worth noting there's an entire section about Annie in the NYMag profile of Sam Altman that came out a couple weeks ago:

Why does this keep getting removed? This is legitimate news. Deeply disturbing.

They really remove it: I favorited another thread, but it's gone.

Apparently, Sam Altman was president of YC. As long as this keeps happening without any explanation, it's clear where this site's allegiance lies.

I would think this would fall under "Negative stories about HN" under the FAQ and be treated with sensitivity, so I would be really curious for dang to weigh in on this, especially since this has seemed to happen repeatedly.

I noticed this went from the top 10 to disappearing almost completely within a few minutes, without being flagged or anything.

Annie's claims aren't yet substantiated but she should still be able to share her story.

She says she's been shadow-banned across multiple platforms:

As for her persona and the allegations (ie. if this is news worthy), who knows.

At the moment this looks like random gossip without any substance. It's not even clear whether this is really the person they claim to be. And the accusations are a bit unspecific.

In that form, it seems not appropriate content for this platform. Some professional should research deeper, verify and write some article first to back up the claims.

Users flagged it. (That's the usual answer to this question, as explained in the FAQ: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html.)

(Posting this belatedly because the question has been coming up today.)

Seems incredibly similar to Mythbusters' Adam Savage's allegations, and will likely settle out of court for an undisclosed sum, for the same reasons.

True or not, you aren't going to be able to prove 25+ year old event occurred between minors wuth no other witnesses.

True or not, it's a PR nightmare.

This seems like a personal and legal matter. It’s probably being removed because the allegations haven’t been properly investigated and HN is only a court of public opinion.

It seems like a lot of people have made up their minds already, one way or another.

And the submitters account is only a couple weeks old.

Why was this flagged? If true, and we won’t know for a long time, it is relevant to the site that YCombinator and by extension Sam created.

Wow. Seems like this news is being suppressed.

> Hurt people cause more hurt, and forms of abuse go together. I have endured physical, sexual, verbal, emotional, financial, and technological abuse at the hands of a human I once called my brother. I know he can hear our dad in his head reminding him that “love wins”

> If only there was little sister with a bed you could uninvited crawl in, or sick 20-something sister you could withhold your dead dad’s money from, to cope.

X formerly Twitter seems to be quite good at limiting certain account's visibility and reach. Not sure if that's intentional or the result of some heuristics.

Her account exists since 2011!

And he was 13 apperantly

Sounds like sexual molestation of a sibling still.
