4 billion profit last year, and we wonder why everything is so expensive: just greed.

And somehow netflix doesn't realize their catalog is barely worth what they charge now, versus the far more comprehensive catalogs of their competitors.

When I read this article, I logged into my Netflix account and realized that the value proposition is gone for me. I barely use Netflix, it's always sending me emails reminding me about shows I may/not be interested in, and the features keep getting degraded. Netflix is in the throes of enshittification. If the price goes up, I'll cancel my subscription.

Yeah, if you want to watch Asian tv shows there are better options e.g. Qi or Viki

But you can watch another season of stranger things and find out what happens in the 90s!

Why even bother? If it’s not worth paying for it’s not worth watching. Your time is more valuable.

In that situation, I'd just prefer to buy the DVD instead of this subscribe-then-unsubscribe thing these companies end up incentivizing.

Until they stop producing physical media. Definitely a problem.

After the password sharing lock down (which ended up being a price hike for our 2 household child), the lack of compelling content, and now another planned price hike I think I'm going to be dropping Netflix in the near future there's just no content there I value that much.

What was the last good Netflix exclusive that made it more than 2 quality seasons

It’s already expensive enough.
