Still no support for ECC RAM. When is someone going to take a leadership position?

It doesn’t really answer why we are we not deserving of pro parts?

And give up that sweet, sweet enterprise market segmentation? I wish they would.

Framework has no enterprise products other than BYOD and AMD already did the work.

AMD was who I meant by they. Sibling comment clarifies that it’s only on Pro.

They seem to be a bit confused as to who their customer is.

There are HP EliteBooks with a Ryzen Pro 7940hs that have SODIMM slots, so I think they should support ECC?

Isn't DDR5 RAM always somewhat ECC with AMD?

As per Wikipedia article, it is not the same thing. The on-die ECC is needed on DDR5 to reach the reliability of previous non-ECC ram. Real ECC-DDR5 additionally exists for higher reliability.

I think you're getting the reliability even from on-die ECC if there's memory corruption. What you're not getting is warnings that the RAM is bad and that you should replace it. So it's just as resilient as officially ECC ram but you don't know if error correction is happening or not.
