Google randomly deleted a popular YouTube channel again

Seems like his whole channel is dedicated to 3D-printing firearms and has been regularly demonetized. Just to give some context.

Is discussing firearms against the YouTube Terms of Service?

How to build firearms is explicitly prohibited on the YouTube Community Guidelines. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7667605

Well there you go then. This is a big old nothingburger then.

That's everything but random.

Maybe in US it's legal, but I prefer Europe to stay a safe continent with as few firearms as possible.

Is the mention of the history of 3D printed firearms likely to be the issue, I vaguely remember those causing similar issues before. (Mandatory clarification: I don’t necessarily agree that that’s a good reason to shut an account, but Google may do)

Yeah, I don't know the channel but clicking his twitter profile I can't say it really seems entirely "random" or out of the blue. He even tweeted about getting strikes recently.

I thought of exactly the same thing, and I wondered if there's a relation to this thing that was in the news lately:

Are we sure these are random deletions? What was the last popular channel that went through something similar?

Regardless it's more so that Google wants people to use their platforms but can't be bothered to have humans contact people when theirs issues. You just get an email saying you're fucked and good luck. Happens with people's Google accounts too.

Google did it again and randomly deleted a popular YouTubers channel with no notice and without contacting them I'm advance to discuss

If anything should be under antitrust scrutiny, YouTube is a great candidate.

They have a clear monopoly on video content and have been abusing this position to suppress unwanted speech as well as competition.

Google did it again and randomly deleted a popular community standards breaking channel with no notice. It's unfortunate that they didn't catch it before it became popular.

I mean, of course the many previous times they were warned about their content and demonetized them kind of counts for both giving notice and detecting it earlier.
