Was it expected to be a love-in, though? When an exec takes over a position, the most basic questions are about what challenges predecessors faced and what are their plans to tackle those, and what are today's most-pressing challenges and how does the exec plan to address them. Otherwise it's just an unashamed and vacuous PR stunt.
Yaccarino sandbagged herself when she took the job. She put herself in a position that makes her look bad. She decided the pay packet was worth the inevitable reputational damage.
