I had no idea how significant pediatric dental specialties were until my daughter fell out of a pickup truck onto the curb broke her two front teeth at the age of 3. Luckily her adult teeth grew in appropriately, but she still needs braces to fix the spacing in her smile that the injury left. It's been over a decade and I still feel terrible.
