in otherwards a footpatrol chaparone to support the bot.

>>Asked about concerns of vandalism, the mayor responded that anyone who seeks to damage the new piece of technology will be held responsible for its repairs. Depending on the severity of damage, vandals may even face felony charges, Kemper said.<<.

i could see this as a lead to the bot being "deputized" to the effect of turning vandalism vs property, into assault on officer.

at 420 pounds this bot had better move slow, and have excellent collision avoidance.

it looks a lot like beatcop with a drone on foot patrol, except the 9$/hour leasing. thats way cheaper than an actual cop. i wonder what the union would think about loosing the special patrol gig to a bot for cheaper.

Surely this won't end with racism. Surely this time it'll be different.
