I'm sorry to repeatedly post this comment but almost no-one understands the law in question.
The law only banned the sale of pure-ICE vehicles. Hybrids were never to be banned, and you don't have to plug in a hybrid.

China is pushing EVs, and they are the largest car market. Hopefully, they get us past the tipping point on improved and affordable EV’s.
