We liked Prime for years for the video content and the shipping. We are now going to drop Prime. I already dropped AWS when they announced they were going to screw people with new charges for using IPv4. Losing shipping will suck but it's not the end of the world.
I've got a laundry list of complaints about Amazon, but the ipv4 charge isn't one; it's a finite resource that a lot of companies are being lazy with. Without a reasonable IP usage plan, their ability to get future allocations on the secondary markets would be imperiled.
No other cloud provider has that issue. I do not believe their motives are altruistic. If they were, they would support creating something better than IPv4 and IPv6. IPv6 is a privacy nightmare, I don't plan to debate it, I was simply stating that AWS lost me as a customer and now Amazon Prime is losing us.
