Why is yelp doing this? I always thought that they forced some amount of pay to play on businesses that participate in their service.
Yelp wants Yelp to get paid, not someone else.
Ironic that this complaint is from the same people who’ve been repeatedly caught selling better placement to those who pay.
“Yelp sort” is the default and is basically “paid accounts first”.

Needs to be $50k per incident and also cover soliciting or placing false negative reviews on competitor's products/pages/sites.
I am seeing dispensaries in CA listed, where you get a discount if you show them a 5 star review on yelp, etc (which I do see advertised in stores quite often, I guess)
Why are all of these 'suspicious' companies in CA?
