I figured this out a couple years ago. Google Maps was the best in the game for a long time, but they pretty clearly switched from 'attract and lock in customers with a great product' to 'wring money out of our locked-in customers' mode, and it shows. Apple Maps is what I use about 99% of the time now.
For navigation, it rocks. I wish they would just shed the Yelp review though.
Apple Maps in rural America sucks hard in my experience.
Also in Europe as soon as you leave a major city.
