Platform Engineering – What’s Hype and What’s Not?

Turns out the world of tech is just like fashion: I was working on a platform engineering team in 2006!

It really is just slapping a fancy label on the very obvious concept of working out what the common problems are that your software engineers are having to solve that aren’t about the unique value of the system they’re building, and then solving them once, for everybody, in a coherent and managed way.

Pretty obvious and non controversial in my opinion, no SRE’s or devops engineers need to be sacrificed in its name.
