We track our productivity. Our teams got more productive when we went remote. A lot more productive. The worst case for some individuals is that they remained at the same productivity level. The productivity has remained good.
These are software dev teams. The tooling did not change at all when we went remote, except that we rarely have face to face meetings anymore.
No conversation about in-office productivity should happen without factoring in commuting hours. These are hours that are required for in-office work to happen, and they're dead weight on productivity for both the worker and the firm.
