It's 2023 and the Apple Lightning connector has a max transfer speed of 480 Mbps, the same speed as USB 2.0 which was released in the year 2000.
Meanwhile USB 3.2 has a transfer speed of 20,000 Mbps.
Clearly Apples argument about it stifling innovation was a cover for it's vendor lock-in strategy that the EU regulators seen right through.
