The Internet Archive is nice, but it doesn't really scratch that itch, because it's so hard to search and browse. Also I'm afraid it's picked fights that it can't win, so it might not survive itself either (and it's far too large to mirror).

In 2001 CSS was not ready to be used in all the ways proponents were advocating. It feels like at least a decade was lost in <div> soup and CSS-for-everything (even tables) purgatory. It feels like just now in 2023 things like centering and layout are finally as easy as they were with tables.
