In relating it back to the Linux distro being compared to Marie Kondo, the point is that having a small tidy distro isn't a value, unless it matches your computing priorities.
BTW, I wrote the article and I submitted it, but I didn't write the title. The editors often do not use writers' titles. :-)
It's not better than using Debian Sid. I didn't claim it was. Install it and you are using Debian Sid.
The difference, the only difference, is that it's quicker and easier to install than Debian Sid. That's it. That's the story.
Sensible defaults, no cruft, minimal questions during setup, just straight to a working config with the absolute minimum of effort.
I found there has been a single mention of it before, when it was released: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15199107
There's nothing wrong with Debian, if you know how to set up Debian.
But if was easy to set up Debian and get a working desktop without a fair degree of knowledge and expertise, then Ubuntu would never have happened. And yet, it did and it's big and has at least twice as many users as Debian itself... Plus all those on Mint etc.
