Zoom CEO Explains Why Employees Must Return to Office

Buried in the middle of mismanagement-based nonsense is a legitimate root cause:

"Quite often, you come up with great ideas, but when we are all on Zoom, it's really hard," Yuan said. "We cannot have a great conversation. We cannot debate each other well because everyone tends to be very friendly when you join a Zoom call."

So the real root cause isn't remote, it's inability to get into it. And when engineers can't debate well, better solutions are less likely to come to light.

This problem is real, for teams in person as well. Work on that. The problem usually starts with company culture prioritizing its principles poorly.
