I have started to limit my own time along by sending an update every week to my circle about my usage. I then try and drive that down with time limits.
The tech companies including China would love for you to use their products 99.9% of your waking life while limiting their children from the same products they create.

As a former 80s kids, I’m going to push back on this notion a bit: our parents were infamous for getting away with minimal parenting in general (and mine definitely did). TV, video games, playing at the local abandoned industrial site, was all on the table, it’s a wonder we survived.
I will add that I am navigating these waters as someone who had far too much exposure to TV, video games, computers, and Internet since the modem days.
I am mostly indifferent to the medium but I am hoping to build the social connections as well as the creative and builder mindset and not just consumer of content.
